Danforth East Wellness health clinic

Welcome To Danforth East Wellness

Danforth East Wellness is a beautiful clinic focused on your healthcare. We provide chiropractic, registered massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, psychotherapy, osteopathy, lactation and infant feeding support, and prenatal classes, in Toronto’s East end.

Chiropractic care

Our registered chiropractic approach combines traditional techniques with soft tissue work. We believe in tailoring treatments specifically for each individual, according to their comfort. We create treatments that are collaborative between patient and doctor, which encompass seeing the patient as a whole. We also offer additional services to support the care and progress of our patients. At our disposal, we have orthotics, electrotherapy, exercise, and stretching recommendations, pre/post maternal care, and newborn care. Yoga therapy is also available to patients, where individualized sessions help to improve patient progress.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

TCM is an ancient holistic healing system as well as a regulated health profession. It has been used for thousands of years to promote health and wellbeing. It uses a variety of modalities including acupuncture, tuina, gua sha, and cupping among others, to restore balance and harmony to the body, mind and spirit.

Massage therapy

Our registered massage therapy addresses a variety of conditions including back, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, sprains and strains, lymphedema, and issues arising from pregnancy. After treatment self-care suggestions such as stretching and strengthening are given to support continued wellness.

Craniosacral therapy

Our craniosacral therapy, provided by an RMT, is a gentle approach to pain and tension and addresses imbalances in the body. The work is effective with a wide range of conditions and is very well suited to newborn needs.

Licensed Acupuncture

Our acupuncture is provided by a licensed chiropractor or our TCM practitioner and is useful in a variety of conditions as either a primary therapy or as an adjunctive therapy.

Scar Tissue Release Therapy

STRT uses low-level electrical impulses to stimulate cellular activity. It reduces and fades scar tissue, adhesions and restrictions.

Rosen Method Bodywork

Rosen Method Bodywork helps people reclaim their connection to their bodies and emotional selves through touch, sensing and feeling.

Counselling (Psychotherapy)

At Danforth East Wellness we offer virtual or in-person sessions, depending on the therapist. We have several therapists available, utilizing various methods, with some providing care under supervision in the final stages of training. Please read their individual biographies to learn more about how they work and what you can expect as a client.

Osteopathy

Osteopathic Manual Therapy aims to restore balance to the mechanical structures of the body in order to facilitate the self-healing and self-regulating systems that already exist in each of us.
Because the body is dynamic unit of function, this form of treatment considers the interrelationships between all layers of the body which includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, viscera, bones, nerves, arteries, veins, and lymphatics. Restoring proper alignment in all structural layers allows the body to function and communicate as it is designed to do. Osteopathic Manual Therapy aims to set the patient’s body in a better position to heal itself.

Lactation and Infant Feeding Support

Our lactation and infant feeding support is provided by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Sessions are individualized to support all families with their unique feeding goals, whether it’s chest or breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, weaning and/or introducing solid foods.

Prenatal Education

Our prenatal education sessions are provided by a certified Childbirth Educator, Doula, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Sessions can be run in both private or semi private formats. Topics include Birth Preparation, Postpartum and Baby Preparation and Lactation and Infant Feeding Preparation.

We recognize not everyone has the same experience when accessing care, and so we strive to ensure comfort and safety for our patients including those who identify as LGBTQ2+.
