This clinic works with healing and wellness, and we feel that in order to be able to provide these services in a truthful and grounded manner it is important to acknowledge the land on which we carry out our work. The purpose of a land acknowledgement is to recognize, respect and affirm the ongoing relationship between Indigenous people and the land. We are thereby called to examine our own relationship to both Indigenous people and the land, and reflect on how they are present in our own lives.
This clinic is situated on the Treaty 13 lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. It is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
