LACTATION AND INFANT FEEDING SUPPORT

Initial Visit

Initial visits are 1 hour and 15 minutes in length, during which:

  • A complete history will be taken.
  • A feed or pumping session will be observed and supported.
  • Tools will be offered to support your feeding goals.
  • A written care plan will be offered to you.

Follow Up Visits

Follow up visits run between 30 to 60 minutes in length, during which:

  • Updates will be discussed.
  • A feed or pumping session will be observed and supported.
  • Tools will be offered to support your feeding goals.
  • A written care plan will be offered to you.

Please note – bottle feeding support sessions, for bottle aversion and refusal, run in short sessions of around 30 minutes. You will need approximately 3 sessions, either in person or virtually. Continuous follow up support will be provided for 2-4 weeks, depending on your needs.

Please bring any tools that will be useful for our session, such as your breast pump and breast pump parts, expressed breastmilk or formula.

We will provide:

  • Flanges
  • Breastfeeding pillows
  • Lactation aids and syringes

Prenatal Education

Birth Prep and Postpartum & Baby Prep will be split into 2 separate sessions of 2 hours. You may choose to book your sessions across one weekend or book them on separate weekends.

Generally, sessions should be booked between weeks 30-37 of your pregnancy.

Classes are either private (1-4 individuals directly related to one upcoming birth) or semi private (generally 2 couples or up to 4 people).

You will be asked to fill in an Initial Intake form as well as a Birth Preferences questionnaire.

We will provide:

  • Light snacks and water
  • Props to trial out
  • A multitude of hand outs and resources
