COUNSELLING/PSYCHOTHERAPY/MENTAL HEALTH

We have several therapists available, working with individuals and couples, with some therapists working under supervision. The therapists use a variety of modalities, primarily in the experiential and humanistic streams of psychotherapy. These include Relational Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Reading through the different biographies may give you an idea of who you might best connect with. Then reach out with an email to set up a 15-20 minute phone or video call as therapy is a deeply personal endeavour, and it is important to have an opportunity to meet your therapist and decide if they are a good ‘fit’ for you. It’s also necessary to ensure that there is no conflict of interest that would interfere with working together.

There are options for Counselling Sessions for Individuals or for Couples. The majority of the session time is spent in conversation, with the last 10 minutes of the time spent by the therapist on reflection, note-taking, and planning for the next session. These last 10 minutes is dedicated to you and is an essential part of working together. During Couples Counselling it will be ensured that both partners are given space and time to express themselves.

We also have practitioners who offer EMDR and matrix reimprinting (EFT/tapping) as supports for PTSD and trauma work.
