OSTEOPATHY

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy which involves the osteopathic manual practitioner palpating and moving the patient’s body to assess and treat (both actively and passively). For the initial visit, it is necessary to have a full assessment performed which includes an intake interview to review health history. This is required so that a safe and effective treatment may be rendered. Assessment, treatment, and reassessment are performed consecutively throughout each session, be they the initial or follow-up. Treatments are generally 20-30 minutes in length but are not time based; they are unique to each individual. Due to the intake interview, it may take 40-45 minutes for the initial visit. Treatment is delivered fully clothed but patients are asked to remove belts, accessories, watches, glasses, shoes, or other items that may impact the treatment. Please wear loose fitting clothing to be as comfortable as possible throughout the treatment.
